About PARISSARA

Our brand was founded and launched in Thailand in late 2016. It was born from a love of working creatively with textiles, and inspired by the techniques used to make traditional Thai hand-woven fabric. Modern production lines have made this process something of a lost art. At Parissara, we are dedicated to showcasing the timeless beauty of this style to a wider audience. At this point in history, the traditional Thai fabric industry is underutilized, and artisans are struggling to maintain their way of life. We would like to better the livelihood of those craftspeople, add energy and creativity to the industry, and help this traditional art become a standard for quality fashion. We believe our collection reflects a feeling of discovery and adventure, and of encountering new people and places in comfort and style. The fluidity of our design allows the wearer to feel connected and at home wherever they are in the world.

Story

Parissara - where the art of textile enters your everyday life. Parissara is a Thai label that's proud of its roots, using mainly traditional hand-woven fabric to create an aesthetic inspired by our natural surroundings. We use only ethically sourced materials, using only the best materials for our customers.

Founded and created by Parissara Na Phatthalung, a Thai designer who believes in the value and importance of Thai fabric and craftsmanship. After studying fashion design In Florence, Italy, Parissara returned to her tropical roots to apply her acquired knowledge with a renewed purpose in her homeland. She originally wanted to hire weavers from her hometown, Phatthalung, but found only one elderly woman still familiar with the method and the local industry dead because of a lack of demand. She hopes one day to rebuild that weaving community and tradition. She is now also working as an operations manager for a home furnishings company full-time with past experience as a fashion buyer. The brand is built by a community of passionate and creative Thai local designers, artists and artisans around Thailand. She sometimes goes to the villages, spends time with them, and learns how to weave and dye.

Parissara uses mainly natural textiles woven with both traditional and modern techniques that fits seamlessly into today's world, while keeping a sense of rural wisdom and knowledge. To ensure the lowest possible amount of waste and for you to feel special, we strive for “Zero-waste” with made-to-order tailoring through our small local Thai producers

Our aim is to promote handcrafted designs, help support local producers, and share the beauty of the material and artistry in a sustainable way.

Our promise is to care for both producers and customers, with each of us contributing towards an enduring legacy.

The hand-woven fabric we use embodies traditional Thai qualities through its texture and pattern. The variety and composition of color and design is inspired from the natural world that surrounds us. Parissara is a brand that allows you to be true to yourself, stay original, and keep close to home. For every time, every place, every style, we provide elegance and comfort.

Our future goal is to build and foster relationships with local textile communities, help preserve craftsmanship and cultural heritage, and share our ethos of sustainable development and production. We would like to build a mutually beneficial network, with a shared vision - taking care of our shared home.

Our name – Parissara
